The most prudent action would be for the Office of the High Representative to transition into an EU office, which would be a form of compromise in terms of de-escalating the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina. All sides involved in the agreement would then address current issues, said the President of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, Nenad Stevandić, following a meeting between the Parliament leadership, heads of parliamentary clubs, and the EU Delegation Head in BiH, Johann Sattler.

Stevandić mentioned that Republika Srpska is a democratic society where opinions and stances are freely and independently expressed, fostering dialogue, while laws are enacted by parliaments through democratic procedures with the assistance of other institutions.

“All of this stands in contrast to what the illegal High Representative (Christian Schmidt) is doing, imposing laws that produce constant crises in BiH”, Stevandić stated.

Regarding the relationship with the EU, Stevandić noted that in Republika Srpska, there are no differences in the government and opposition’s positions regarding the European path.”
